École Sifton Parent School Council
Sifton’s Parent School Council represents parents’/guardians’ voices in the school community. The group consists of parents, guardians, principals, teachers, staff, and community representatives who work together to support and enhance the student experience at Sifton.
Parents and guardians play a vital role in student success and Parent School Council allows parents/guardians to get involved with the school and participate in decisions that impact student learning. We consider the interests of all school stakeholders and make decisions focusing on what is best for all students at the school.
What do we do?
- Each year, we coordinate several school fundraisers to help cover the cost of school equipment, enhancements or field trip transportation. In previous years’ fundraisers, we have covered the cost of ROAR Ticket prizes, various gym and classroom equipment, sleds and reading programs.
- We strengthen the school community by organizing, assisting with and supporting school events such as Friday Hot Lunch, Carnaval, Sports Day, school wide meals, trips to Lougheed Centre performances, school garden beds and various family-oriented workshops.
